Alas Purwo National Park is one representative of ecosystem types of lowland rainforest in Java.
Unique and endemic plants in this national park is kecik sapodilla (Manilkara kauki) and bamboo manggong (Gigantochloa manggong). Other plants are ketapan (Terminalia cattapa), nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum), bulging (Sterculia foetida), Keben (Barringtonia asiatica), and 13 species of bamboo.
Alas Purwo National Park is the habitat of several wild animals such as ebony leaf monkey (Trachypithecus auratus auratus), banteng (Bos javanicus javanicus), ajag (Cuon alpinus javanicus), peacock (Pavo muticus), jungle fowl (Gallus Gallus), deer (Cervus timorensis Russa), leopard (Panthera pardus weld), and cat (Prionailurus bengalensis javanensis). Rare and endangered species like the turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea), leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata) and green turtle (Chelonia mydas) are often landed on the South coast of national parks in January to September.
In the period October-December in Segoro seedlings can be seen about 16 species of migratory birds from Australia including sacred cekakak (Halcyon chloris / Todirhampus sanctus), pup-pup sea bird (Merops philippinus), beach Sandpipers (Actitis hypoleucos), and Sandpipers bush ( Tringa glareola).
Plengkung located next to South Park Alas Purwo perselancar was known to the world stage as the G-Land. The term G-land can be defined, because the location of the water surfing sports are located in the Gulf Grajagan that resembles the letter G.
